The Shop: Bohemian Honey Boutique

Well, I figure it is finally time to write about my new little etsy shop, Bohemian Honey Boutique! I guess we should start with the basics of what it is!

Bohemian Honey Boutique is mainly a handmade jewelry shop, that offers jewelry styles for those who enjoy what I like to term,  'bohemian chic'. Allow me to personally define this for you with my own definition:

bohemian chic: (adj.) 1. The feeling of being free 2. eclectic 3. stylish
                                                              4. elegant 5. or casual 6. and expressing yourself 7. in a way
that  can only be show through 8. what you wear.

Please keep checking this section for updates on new items, coupon codes, giveaways, and news about the shop! You can access through my etsy mini on the right side of my blog!

Did you see a piece of jewelry you liked somewhere else that was over your price range, but want it recreated for less? Or maybe you just have this vision of several different elements that you want created into one? Contact me and I can do my best to make that happen! You might just be surprised (maybe I will too, hehe)

A Very Bloggy Makeover!!!

Blog + Blah = Blahg

My simple equation pretty much sums up the feelings I had been having for my blog lately. I just hadn't been inspired to write, take pictures, or share anything. Believe me, there is always something to talk about but when it came to me, I couldn't get myself to just, blog! Well, besides the fact that I had been working on my etsy shop Bohemian Honey Boutique, working at my other job, taking care of Brendan, Bryan and 3 birds (one we are fostering!), my time has been quite limited. Speaking of the shop, this was a huge inspiration for me to make some changes to my blog! I was never sold on the original name or design I chose, and plus now it didn't have any relation, or remotely even match my new shop! It felt unorganized and disconnected!

One day, I said to myself, "Farra, you had better do something about your blog! It sucks! Maybe you should find someone to design it for you!". With the help of my go-to blogger girl, Tammy who I am also proud to call one of my very very very best friends (in real life!), she gave me some ideas of who I could have design my blog! I finally chose Kristen, from Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Can I just tell you how sweet, talented and creative this girl is?? She was so nice, and will work with you on your design until your heart is content! She is reasonably priced as well, so it won't break the bank to add a little 'umph' to your blog! Also, she works super fast! From first contact to finish, it took like 4 days!  Go check out her previous work on her website!

We Went Wild

A couple of months ago, we joined some of our best friends, their son, and their sister and her family for a day at the The San Diego Zoo: Safari Park. Yeah, it seems like there is a new attraction in San Diego, but it's just the good old San Diego Wild Animal Park, with a brand new name! So now that I cleared that up, (because you were all dying to know that trivial info) I can show you what our day looked like!

Going anywhere like this with 3 babies, all under 2, makes for an interesting experience. You had better believe there were many stops for bottles and sippy cups, diaper changes, snacks, lunchtime, snacks, diapers, bottles feeding ducks, diapers, sippy cups, and lots and lots of picture taking! Yep, I'm aware of some repeats in our day of events, and that's because it did go a little something like that! This made for a long, but quite enjoyable  little family outing. Brendan is really into animals at his young age, so he squealed and smiled when he saw some of the animals moving around.

Here are some of the pictures we captured that day!

Brendan and Bryan looking at ducks.

A Vulture. Not so cute, but he was part of our day!

Two young giraffes, who are play-battling. Their interaction was pretty fun to watch!

What can I say?? I am a sucker for baby elephants! Well, baby anything, for that matter!

I just liked this flower. A Trumpet something or other flower.

A mama gorilla, giving her little one a ride on her arm, while pushing that bedding around the enclosure. Never did see what she finally did with it.

My favorite shot of the day!

A dominant male, Silver Back Gorilla, and the proud papa, of that baby in the above picture.

Brendan and I, in the Lorikeet exhibit. Brendan loves birds, so he was intrigued by these bright and noisy birds.

Brendan and Bryan, standing with a waterfall. Another one of Brendan's 'likes'.

If you haven't been out to the Safari Park, you definitely should go! It's pretty fun! We definitely enjoyed ourselves!

Little Bits of Happiness

I am linking up today with Stephanie, for her first Little Bits of Happiness! I think this is an adorable idea, and I am so happy to take part in it!

My little bits of happiness includes.....

My amazing little 11 month old boy, Brendan. He really lights up my life. I cannot resist this face!

Ahhh, coffee....if it weren't for coffee, I don't know where I would be! Yes, that is the Costco sized coffee creamer, and yep, you had better believe I buy my coffee at Costco, too (Right now, I am drinking Dunkin' Donuts coffe, and it's pretty delish). Coffee is serious business!

I love the fact that we have a beautiful orange tree in our backyard that provides the biggest, sweetest, juiciest oranges! If anyone wants oranges, please let me know! We have plenty to spare! The tree is loaded!  No joke! Contact me if you want some!

This is my entryway and it makes me happy because it's so open and airy, and decorated with my favorite stuff! I love decor from India, Morocco and Israel.

Last but not least, the person who gives me so much happiness I could explode! This handsome devil is my husband, and even though he doesn't have the tux now, he will always be my groom!

Happy Thursday,

Farra

Oatmeal Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yay! A cooking post!! This is something I have been meaning to post for months, but since we all know how infrequent my posts have been lately, this post has been on hold, among many others.

Anyways, these cookies are partially a recipe that I found, and then me changing a few of the ingredients in order to make them healthier, and because well, quite honestly, it was one of those ' awwww, man.... I don't want to go back to the store AGAIN, what do I have in the pantry to improvise?' kinda situations.

The results came out quite good, if I do say so myself, and I had an empty plate, a recipe request, and another request from Bryan, to make more for a family party. For Bryan to request cookies like this is kind of a big deal, because he doesn't like stuff like this usually, so I take this as the ultimate compliment!

Onto the recipe!!

What you need:

2/3 cup of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" (or if you prefer butter, use butter in the same amount! Or any other
butter substitute will work!)
2/3 cup of packed brown sugar - light or dark, it doesn't matter
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups Kashi GoLean: Crunch cereal or rolled oats (this cereal is so good for you, and tastes so great!)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 cups dried orange cranberries, medium rough chopped (I get mine from Trader Joe's)
2/3 cup white chocolate chips

What to do:

- Preheat oven: 375 degrees
- Combine butter and brown sugar, until creamy and fluffy
- Add in the eggs, one at a time
- Adding only one cup at a time, and stirring well after each cupful, add the Kashi, flour, salt and baking
soda
- Stir in cranberries, and white chocolate chips.
- On an ungreased cookie sheet, drop teaspoon sized round cookie dough onto the cookie sheets. These
cookies don't spread that much, so they don't have to be too far apart.
- Place cookie sheets in preheated oven, for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Time to taste!! But, I'd let them cool, first! ;-)

Dinnerware is by Corelle, in the pattern Nouveau

If you try this recipe, you MUST let me know how it goes! Happy baking, everyone!

SoCal Blogger Meetup = AWESOME!!!

Ok, so I have been a MAJOR slacker when it has come to blogging lately....errr, uhhhh, like over 2 months again...um, sorry. I want to be really good at this, but quite honestly, I am finding lately I have less and less time to do the whole "blogger" thing! but, I do, I do, I do want to do the blogger thing and be a blogger too! So, I guess I will just write this statement. You may be happy to know, I do actually have several posts I need to complete, so there should be some new material soon!

Anywho!!! I went to the most fabulous event this weekend! The SoCal Blogger Meetup was a major success and I am so proud of my bestie Tammy, for being one of the planners and organizers! Everything was so beautiful and festive! I was able to meet several great bloggers, even though I couldn't meet all of the 65+, it was still super fun! I love to meet new people, but this also gave us a chance to check out some sponsors that donated prizes to the blogger meetup! I was one of the lucky winners! I won a Dove chocolate gift certificate from Allison, from Dove Chocolate Discoveries and I also won a cute knitted bow  from Engineered Knits! My little etsy shop, Bohemian Honey Boutique (Grand Opening is February 14th! Check it out! Use coupon code: bhb214 for 15% off your purchase!) sponsored with some handmade necklaces and bracelets.

The meetup was Valentines Day themed, which was super awesome and totally festive, with lots of pink, red,  and white balloons!

Oh, so the meetup was held at Roppongi, in La Jolla. This restaurant is located in the heart of La Jolla Cove and the setting is amazing! Walking to all of the major shops, as well as the beach for a glipse of the Pacific. The food was incredibly yummy! They served appetizers and desserts! I had a glass of their house white wine, and it was delicious!

After a great afternoon with these lovely bloggers, I went home and definitely relaxed with my husband and my son. Can't wait until the next meetup!
